Introduction
Here’s a brief report on the visit by a delegation led by Minister of Foreign affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia H.E Ahmed Issa Awad, who participated in the 46th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on March 1 and 2, 2019 in Abu Dhabi capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Minister’s visit
Before the delegation arrived, Mr. Ahmed Daahir Mohammed, Chargé d’ Affaires of the Somali Embassy welcomed the delegation at Dubai International Airport The Somali delegation headed by Foreign Minister of Somalia Ahmed Issa Awad arrived in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, 28/02/2019 at 11:00 pm, The delegation was hosted at the Emirates Palace Hotel for three night During the two-days of the conference, which coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the OIC, the foreign ministers discussed a range of issues regarding peace and stability in the Muslim world, as well as the integration and cooperation among the OIC members.
Last but not least the chairmanship of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was transferred from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates. In addition the new members of the Council were elected. The UAE president, Afghanistan, Uganda and Palestine as vice-presidents and Bangladesh selected to be as their headquarters. At the end minister thanked the government of the United Arab Emirates for the good reception and the apparent role for ending this great visit.
On date 3 March 2019 After the conference finished the Minister Ahmed Issa Awad accompanying with his secretary Mohamed Abdi Mohamud visited the Embassy of Somalia in Abu Dhabi ,then the Chargé d’Affaires Ahmed Daahir Mohamed introduced the minister to Embassy the diplomatic staff and local staff as well , The minister toured on the Embassy and saw the employees doing their jobs , after that the minister did small meeting with whole staff and the diplomatic and advise them that each one working in this Embassy represent his country of Somalia so each one should do his job as way that make others fascinates, in addition he said that the good and the bad thing that you did will affect in your country whenever you are .
Conclusion:
The minister concluded the meeting by praising the Chargé d’Affaires for the good job that he did on the Embassy starting from turning the garden in front of the Embassy that was not existed before, furthermore the new system which he added to make the attestation to be electronic instead of the previous way that was manual which shows the progress of the Embassy as well.
